General

On the Admin→Preferences... dialog, you can use the General tab to set some basic preferences within the QWin application.

User Preferences: General tab

Each field has the following meaning:

Auto-update every [ ] minutes

If you enable this check box, you can enter the number of minutes between automatic updates in the edit box. This means that QWin will refresh the display at regular intervals without you having to hit the refresh button.

Use large toolbar buttons

Enable this check box to switch to using a larger set of toolbar buttons.

Skip quick compare for locked files.

This flag is obsolete and will be removed in a future release.

Allow only a single copy of QWin at a time

If you enable this check box, then starting a second copy of QWin while one copy of the application is already running will cause QWin to set focus on that original application window, and the second copy of QWin will exit.

Use colored icons in file list

If you enable this check box, QWin will used colored icons to help highlight status differences in the file list. A green indicator is used when the work file status is "Current" (i.e., when it matches the most recently checked in revision). A yellow indicator is used when there are differences between the work file and the tip revision in the archive.

Ignore case when sorting file list

Enabling this check box will cause QWin to ignore whether characters in a file name are upper- or lowercase when sorting them in the file list pane.

Blink file filter indicator

Enabling this check box will cause QWin to slowly flash an indicator message in the toolbar when a file filter and/or revision filter is active.
