A \'Workfile status\' of \'Obsolete\' means that the archive for the work file has been marked obsolete and is no longer to be used. You can refresh the information on the screen by pressing F5. The user preferences also allow you to have QWin periodically refresh the display. As with most Windows applications, you can type CTRL-A in QWin to select all the files in the file list pane. After selecting a file in the file list pane, hitting ENTER will invoke the default program for viewing\/editing the selected file. If an anonymous file filter is active, CTRL-H will show or hide any non-controlled files for the current directory. Typing CTRL-G in QWin will cause the program to peform a get operation on the currently selected file. Typing CTRL-K in QWin will cause the program to perform a check out operation on the currently selected file. Typing CTRL-L in QWin will cause the program to perform a lock operation on the currently selected file. Typing ALT-A will cause QWin to add the selected file to the project, creating its associated QVCS archive. Typing ALT-Z in QWin will cause QWin to perform an undo check-out operation on the currently selected file. You can use CTRL-DEL to directly delete projects or project files, though deleting a project from within QWin does not delete its archive files. Pressing F4 rebuilds the cache file for a given directory, allowing QWin quick access to up-to- date info about the archives in that directory. In the file list pane, you can double-click on the column heading boundaries to resize a column to the maximum width of its contents. You can display all the files of a project and its subdirectories by clicking on the Recurse Files toolbar icon. You can perform QVCS operations on a project-wide scale, affecting all applicable files without having to select each one individually. You can use the toolbar to quickly change the file filter used for filtering the information appearing in the file list pane. You can filter the revisions that appear in the Revision Information pane using the Filter Revisions toolbar button. You can change the sort order of the revisions that appear in the Revision Information pane using the Sort Revisions toolbar button. You can easily compare your work file to the last revision checked into the archive by using the Compare toolbar button. You can get a quick overview of what has changed in a project by clicking the Compare toolbar button while a project node is selected. QVCS-Pro users can peform simple drag-and-drop operations on the file list pane, enabling you to drag files between applications. If you enter a comment when you check out or lock a file, that comment becomes the default check-in comment when you store a revision. You can get QWin to save up to the 9 most recent check-in comments using the user preferences dialog. You can change the comment associated with a revision from the File→Modify Revision→ Description... dialog. Use the lock tool to restrict access to a file without altering the content or file attributes of your work file. You can break all locks for a QVCS archive using either QWin\'s Undo Check-out dialog or the QVCS command line. QVCS supports branching, allowing you to proceed along multiple paths of development for the same file. If you check out a revision that is not a tip revision, QVCS will automatically create a new branch when you check it back in. You can change the default branch of a QVCS archive in order to facilitate operations on that branch. You can use the Floating labels are a powerful way to manage and group QVCS archives. Unlike regular labels, they always stay with the tip revision on a branch. You can change the default project settings for all projects by selecting the "QVCS Projects" node and accessing the Edit Project Settings dialog. To change the access list for all the archives in a project, select the Project→Modify Archive→ Access List... menu command. You can enable and disable QVCS archive attributes (like keyword expansion, or journaling) separately for each archive. QVCS can automatically select the attributes to associate with a new archive based on the file\'s extension. When journaling is enabled for a QVCS archive, any change to that archive will cause QVCS to add an entry to the project journal file. You can use QVCS keywords to embed useful version control information in your work files without worrying about keeping it updated. You can customize the text that QVCS substitutes when it expands the $Copyright$ keyword through the Project Settings dialog.
